World of Fashion Makes Annual Stop in Hartford

Women's Auxiliary Fashion Show a Big Hit!

HARTFORD – The ladies gathered at the Pond House Café on October 24 for the always-exciting and always-fashionable Salvation Army of Greater Hartford Women’s Auxiliary Annual Fashion Show. There were several gentlemen also in attendance, checking out the food and the fashions, while soaking up the ambiance spread all around the room.

The festivities began when Auxiliary President, Sandra Bobowski, welcomed the guests to the special evening. She thanked the members and guests for participating and turned the program over to Captain Colette Mason for the Invocation. Next was the Fashion Show Coordinator, Jeanne Mucci, who explained the plans for the show and introduced the Fashion Show Commentator Emma Asante, Community Projects Manager for NBC Connecticut. Emma has served in this capacity for three years and does a fantastic job of introducing the models, explaining their outfits, and keeping the show on track.

Jeanne Mucci commented, “I'd like to thank all those who took the time to attend the Fifth Annual Foods, Finds, and Fashions Event, and especially all the models who donated their time to help showcase the consignment clothing that was part of our fundraising efforts for the evening. I also wish to thank the Connecticut artisans who came out with their fabulous hand-crafted creations, to help raise funds and make this event a success.

For example, Farmington P.E.O. Chapter Z provided models and artisans and Southington Community Services provided plenty of Fall/Winter designer clothing for the consignment clothing sale. Lots of organizations and businesses worked together to help The Salvation Army continue their efforts to ‘do the most good’ in the Greater Hartford area… plus it was a fun evening out, with lots of great ‘finds’ in the shopping boutique.”
