Salvation Army Family Store Relocates

New Store Opening in Bridgeport, March 7, 2015

BRIDGEPORT - The Salvation Army is set to open a new Family Center Store on Saturday, March 7 at 345 Huntington Turnpike in Bridgeport. The store will have a "ribbon cutting" ceremony at 8:45 a.m. and will open its doors for the first time at 9:00 a.m.. Opening day shoppers will enjoy special promotions, free coffee and donuts, and many fantastic bargains!

The Bridgeport Family Center Store will be replacing the existing store located at 1174 East Main Street in Bridgeport. The new store is designed to improve the shopping experience for its customers and includes 10,000 square feet filled with bargain-priced clothing, household items, electronics, books, toys, furniture, and collectables. Budget-conscious shoppers will also appreciate the store’s even deeper "Family Day" discounts on Wednesdays, and other special sales. New store location will provide customers with a much larger shopping space, and an ample amount of parking. The new store will be open Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m..

Captain Leo Lloyd, Jr., who oversees The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Hartford, said, "Our new Family Store will offer more selections and more bargains that appeal to everyone. The Bridgeport location will provide our customers with a better shopping experience and should generate heavier customer traffic to help support our social services work. We really look forward to contributing to the community at all levels." The Salvation Army utilizes about 82 cents of every dollar raised to support communities they service every day.

Tax receipts will be provided on-the-spot for any donations received during regular store hours. We encourage all of our customers to donate clothing and goods directly to the store.
