NEW LONDON - The Salvation Army partnered with The Kiwanis Club of New London on August 20 for a Back-to-School Supplies Distribution. This event benefited nearly 150 children from local and surrounding areas. The smiles that were seen on the faces of children, families, staff, and volunteers alike would not have been possible without the help of many generous donations of supplies.

The strategic marketing efforts, coordinated by both agencies, helped to get the word out there via various media outlets. Advertisements were also shared with assorted locations, including the Public Library of New London, on the need for school supplies. This concentrated thee-week Back-to-School Supplies Drive gave both organizations plenty of items to fill the backpacks with.

The Salvation Army and Kiwanis Club of New London would like to once again thank local supporters, as well as local businesses, such as Goldy's Restaurant, who helped to make a distribution of such size possible. Generous support allowed both organizations to impact the lives of many families, giving their children the tools they need to succeed this school year.
