Supporting Healthy Aging

and A Good Cause!

PAWTUCKET - On September 6, Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS), Southern New England Division, teamed up with Pawtucket Emergency Management and Pawtuket CERT to participate in the Relay for Healthy Aging. EDS served donated coffee, water, fruit, snacks, and pizza for the event to both high school track team students and senior participants at Max Read Field from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m..

The Pawtucket Senior Citizens Council, with the assistance of the Tolman and Shea High School track teams, sponsored this fundraiser to benefit the Leon Mathieu Senior Center. Individuals of all ages were encouraged to participate. Participation at all levels is were encouraged, whether you wanted to walk or run a lap around the track, sponsor a walker/runner with a donation, or come to cheer on the participants. The proceeds raised will directly benefit the services and programs offered at the Leon Mathieu Senior Center.
