Adult Rehabilitation Center Participates in Hartford’s Puerto Rican Day Festival

Puerto Rican Parade

HARTFORD - The City streets were filled with happy spectators on Sunday June 7 to celebrate Hartford’s spectacular 6th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival. The weather was perfect and helped to bring out large crowds of participants. There was an air of excitement all around the parade route and across Downtown Hartford. When the parade was over, revelers gathered in Bushnell Park to check out the activities and exhibits that filled it. Families, young and old, enjoyed the music, the ethnic food, and the culture. Many spectators were busy waving flags and dancing to the music.

The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center and Family Stores had their tent set up to gather used clothing. Staff and volunteers also gave out discount coupons to spread the word about the bargains that are available at The Salvation Army’s Family Stores. While the adults appreciated the coupons, all of the kids loved The Salvation Army’s mascot. No sooner did the day come to a close and displays and materials packed up that plans were already being made for next year!
