Norwich Salvation Army Announces 2014 Red Kettle Campaign Goals!

NORWICH - Norwich Corps Officer, Captain Jerry Uttley, "officially" kicked-off their 2014 Red Kettle Campaign at Dime Bank on the Salem Turnpike on Friday, November 28. Captain Jerry commented, "The Salvation Army has been in Norwich for 130 years, and we expect to be here at least for another 130 [years]." He went on to explain that although the Army is operating out of temporary quarters now, due to a fire at the Main Street building in August, they will continue to serve people in the community that need help.

Captain Jerry continued, "We served 3,792 families last year, and we see the need constantly increasing. The economy may be showing signs of improving, but we continue to see individuals and families that need our help. The money we raise during the holidays helps us run our programs throughout the year. We have a kettle goal of $80,000 this year, and with God’s help, and the support of our donors, we hope to have a rewarding and successful Red Kettle season."
