NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – On today’s “CT BUZZ” with Host Natasha Lubczenko, the spotlight was on the important work being done by The Salvation Army to help local children this summer. Michael Baldelli, Public Relations & Marketing Manager at The Salvation Army, shared details about their “A Summer of stories and Snacks” initiative, which combines free meals with literacy programs for kids across Connecticut and Rhode Island. Now in its fourth year, the program has expanded to 12 locations, providing both nourishment and books to children who often rely on schools for these essential resources.
The program locations include: Ansonia, Bridgeport, Danbury, Hartford North End, Middletown, New Haven, Norwalk, Stamford, and Waterbury.
Joining the conversation was Alan Fuehring, Play-by-Play Voice of the Islanders, for The Bridgeport Islanders, and the NHL New York Islanders, who highlighted the team’s commitment to community involvement. Fuehring expressed pride in supporting The Salvation Army’s efforts and shared exciting news about the Islanders’ upcoming “Sound Tigers Saturdays,” bringing back the nostalgic name and logo for select home games this season in honor of the team’s 25th anniversary.
