Some of our "most committed and helpful volunteers" come from the employees of: CVS; Navigant Credit Union; and Pawtucket Credit Union. Also Tolman High School students and teachers are becoming familiar faces around the Corps. Without groups and people like you, we could not effectively serve our community.
This program meets on Monday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Average weekly attendance is typically 50 children and we have had over 200 children participate in the program. A typical evening includes: singing, motivational age-appropriate movies; reading; recreation; crafts; games and a child friendly nutritious supper.
The Club has grown since its inception and with additional funding we hope to expand the number of days we are open and add hours for the program to be more beneficial to the children. After completing a Preparation Course and maintaining faithful attendance, the children are eligible to become Junior Soldiers.
As funding becomes available we are able to provide individuals with various forms of services. These services include utility assistance, rental assistance, clothing vouchers and emergency furniture vouchers. Our consistent service is our monthly Food Distribution. Although funds may be limited, we are committed to alleviating hunger by providing staple food items to over 1,500 households that are currently registered with us. Our largest distribution took place during Thanksgiving and Christmas, when 1,400 households received groceries.
Women’s Ministries have been a part of The Salvation Army since its beginnings. Today, two groups of ladies gather in support of each other and participate in various activities. One group is conducted in English on Tuesdays at noon. The second group speaks Spanish and meets on Fridays at 6:00 PM. This year the women traveled to Niagara Falls and to the Sight & Sound Theatre in Pennsylvania.

Whether you contribute financially, donate goods, give your time, or support us through social media, with your help, The Salvation Army in Pawtucket can continue to reach out to individuals and families to offer a hand-up, not a hand-out. Please contact us if interested in supporting our efforts or if you are in need of assistance.
