Others Sewing Machine

MAKE A DONATION... BE A THREAD IN THE TAPESTRY

Others is The Salvation Army's initiative for trade that promotes hope. The program has created employment opportunities for over 1,500 people from around the world.

The Salvation Army in Kenya dates back to 1896, with the first official meetings held in 1921. Kenya is one of the largest and fastest growing territories in the world and in 2008 was divided into 2 Territories: Kenya East and Kenya West. We will be visiting the Kenya East Territory, with the capital being in Nairobi.

There are over 600 active officers and over 80,000 senior soldiers in the Kenya East Territory. There is a wide variety of social ministries including children’s homes, schools and community development initiatives.

Others Kenya is currently looking to support the production groups with sewing machines. A number of the products produced in Kenya require a machine, but currently there are only 2 available. As part of our ‘thank you’ to Kenya for hosting us, we would like to present them with a gift to purchase some machines.

The cost of each machine is $150. There is no specific target set. All proceeds raised will be given to the Others Coordinator during our visit to Kenya.

The deadline for receiving whatever you would like to contribute towards this gift will be July 15th.
