New London Distributes School Supplies

Through Another Successful Giveaway

NEW LONDON - The Salvation Army in New London strives to do its part in making sure that it can help as many individuals, children, and families as possible, making sure they get what they need. This is not always easy, since the needs of today are indeed great! However, when our New London location can get something done, like provide back-to-school supplies, then by God's provision, it gets it done!

For example, thanks to an anonymous donor and items that were collected by Anita Goldstein Miller, Owner/operator, and her staff and customers of Goldy's, we were able to help many families receive much-needed back to school supplies, including a great selection of backpacks. The event was a tremendous successful, with many happy children and families now ready to return to school with all of the necessities. Children left more confident and excited for the school year ahead, while parents could not thank The Salvation Army enough for this program and everything else it does.

In commenting on why she decided to help, Anita remarked, “I love my community, and I love doing things for it. The Salvation Army is an organization that allows for me to use my staff and my customers at Goldy's, as well as myself, to give back to the community."
