HARTFORD – Hartford Steam Boiler home office employees filled boxes with school supplies for The Right Place, a local preschool program operated by The Salvation Army, as well as piled up coats and warm clothing for members of the Hartford community in need of warmth clothes.

In total, employees donated 265 items, such as coats, boots, scarves, blankets, sweaters and snow suits to their Warm Coat and Clothing Drive, as well as more than 700 items for their Preschool Supplies Drive.

"This tells me that employees realize how great the need still is in our community," said Noreen Kuziak, Director, Underwriting - Engineered Lines, Custom Account Division. "Both the clothing and the school supplies were immediately distributed and put to use."

Kuziak, who organized both events, said the drives were in support of The Salvation Army, a United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut Partner Agency. "One way to support the United Way is by general donations, but it is important to also give your time, talent, and goods to a United Way Partner Agency to make an immediate impact in and around Hartford. The Salvation Army is one of the many agencies that make a direct and positive impact in our community."

The Salvation Army could not be more thankful for its community partners, including Hartford Steam Boiler. As their employees understand, supporting The Salvation Army provides for a great opportunity to get involved and give back to your community!
