Hartford North End Preschool and Family Resource Center

The Right Place is a NAEYC-accredited program for 30 children ages 3 to 5. This Center celebrates the concept that each child is unique, preparing each one for kindergarten success. Click here for more information.

After School Enrichment Project

The After School Enrichment Project, which takes place during the school year, is an afterschool homework club. Each day after school, participants are picked up from Clark Elementary School and walked across the street to The Salvation Army. After receiving a snack, time is set aside each day for children to work on their homework. Depending upon need, they receive individualized attention from staff and volunteers with their homework. Additional activities include crafts, dance, reading, and use of the computer lab. This program runs Monday through Friday, from 3:30PM to 5:30 PM on full school days. There are 20 slots available and most of the children live in the immediate proximity of the building. Children are chosen on a first-come, first-served basis. When the program is running, the school provides an evening meal for the children involved. Program staff also attend this evening meal and bring the children back to The Salvation Army when the meal is finished.
